What is a fair agency split?

By The Creator Side · Updated 22 October 2026

Short answer

Agencies commonly take around 50% of a creator's earnings, according to the BBC, and some contracts it saw took up to 70%. But the percentage alone tells you very little. Always ask "50% of what?" If the agency takes its cut from everything fans pay, before the platform's 20%, you keep far less than the headline number suggests.

What agencies typically take

The BBC's 2026 investigation found agencies commonly take 50% of creators' pre-tax earnings, and contracts it saw went as high as 70%. Agency pricing guides published online typically quote between 20% and 60%, with full management (including chatting) at the higher end. All of this comes on top of the platform's own fee: OnlyFans and Fansly both take 20%.

There is no regulated "standard" rate. What's fair depends on what the agency actually does for you, and on exactly how the percentage is calculated.

"Of what?" is the question that matters

An agency's percentage can be taken in two ways:

If your contract doesn't say which, ask for it in writing.

Worked examples: fans pay £1,000

Agency cutTaken after the platform's 20%
(you keep)
Taken from everything fans pay
(you keep)
No agency£800£800
30%£560£500
40%£480£400
50%£400£300
70%£240£100

How to read this: with a 50% agency taken after the platform's cut, £1,000 from fans becomes £800, and the agency takes £400, leaving you £400. If the same 50% is taken from the full £1,000, the agency takes £500 and the platform £200, leaving you £300.

How much would they need to grow you?

To leave you better off than going it alone, an agency taking 30% of net has to grow your earnings by about 43%. At 40% they need about 67%. At 50% they need to double your earnings. Ask any agency for evidence that they can do that.

When a higher split can be worth it

A bigger cut can still be a good deal if the agency genuinely grows your income and you keep control. It is worth more if they:

It is worth much less if they take control of your account or money, or make leaving expensive. Check the 10 red flags before you agree to any split.

Questions creators ask

What percentage do OnlyFans agencies take?

Commonly around 50%, according to a 2026 BBC investigation of UK creators, with some contracts taking up to 70%. Agency pricing guides typically quote 20% to 60%. The platform's 20% is taken on top.

Is 50% too much for an OnlyFans agency?

It depends on what they do and how it's calculated. At 50% taken after the platform's cut, an agency needs to double your earnings just for you to break even. If it's 50% of everything fans pay, you keep only 30% of what fans spend.

Is the agency percentage taken before or after OnlyFans' 20%?

It varies by contract, which is why you should always ask. Taken after the platform's cut is better for you. Get it in writing.
